The new Mustang cockpit is going digital

The redesigned cabin for the Mustang has a driver-focused digital display and, in top-spec models, a 13.2-inch

infotainment screen in addition to a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster. Instead of adopting Google's Android OS,

Ford is staying with a version of its exclusive SYNC 4 system that is tailored specifically for the Mustang.

The panels will offer a wide range of customization options, including a "Fox Body" instrument display. They will also use the Unreal gaming engine to

add 3D graphics. Ford is switching a lot of the controls to the touchscreen. However, the volume knob in the Mustang will be visible, tangible, and reachable by passengers.
